Paylor’s Memorials is a 3rd generation family business that is dedicated to providing our clients with the finest stone. We combine state of the art designs with old fashioned values and customer service.
With over 40 years’ experience of delivering the highest quality services, tailored to the customers desires, we’re here for when reliability matters most. Founded in 1979 by Carl & Walter Paylor, later joined by son, James. We set out to provide a service that is consistent and trusted throughout the North East of England and beyond.
We offer a wide range of customised stones. Not only do we provide headstones, but we have a variety of products in stone, marble and slate. We offer free enquires and consultations regarding any memorial or monumental stone services. From our family to yours, we look forward to helping where we can.

Who We Are
Paylors are a 3rd generation provider of stonemasonry and funeral services throughout the North-east of England and further. Founded in 1980 by the late, great, Walter Paylor and son, Carl. Carl currently still resides as leading stonemason with over 40 years’ experience, one of the longest in the industry anywhere in the country. This experience and wealth of knowledge means Carl can offer expertise that is one of the finest in the UK. Joined recently by his son James who is a practicing stonemason, dealing also with client communication to ensure Paylors provides the most efficient and satisfying service possible. This is a family business that understand what it means to take care of its clients. From our family to yours, for times when reliability matters most, Paylors Memorials will always offer the most it can.
What We Offer
Paylors offers a wide range of services to our clients. Headstones and memorial plots are our biggest area of services, but with expertise spanning over 40 years we offer free consultations on basically anything from memorials to funeral services. We’re here to ensure that families are provided with the best and most suitable product for them. Something you and your loved ones will be proud of.
What We've Done
We have carried out many works from the re-fixing of over 300 memorials in our local cemeteries. For the council, numerous works in churchyards and even commissioned by the local government to create a plaque unveiled by the queen in the mid 80’s. We pride ourselves on customer care, quality, and peace of mind.
